The reason to create an event is meant for structuring your data. Items you create (questionnaire, data upload, Hugo Fanbase Widget, etc) will all be connected to an event. This way it is easier to navigate to your (probably) huge stack of data at a later stage! But if you can easily keep track of all your data this can be limited to creating a general Event to which you connect all your future data.
How to start? It is really simple - just press the Create an event button:
Provide information about the event
Although it is possible to fully specify your event only the name, date and location are mandatory, so you should be done pretty quick!
Please note that when you do not publish an event it will only be known to you, so no worries on creating events purely for data structuring.
